Reporting To: CHRO / Managing Director / Business Head
The incumbent will act as a strategic HR partner to the regional leadership team while ensuring strong execution of HR policies, employee engagement, talent management, compliance and organisational development across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall HR function for North India, managing HR operations across multiple area offices, branches and business locations.
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle for 3,000+ employees, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, performance management and separation.
- Drive manpower planning and talent acquisition in line with business requirements and expansion plans.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for sales, distribution, corporate and support functions.
- Partner with business leaders to ensure the right talent is available at the right location and at the right time.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and conflict resolution with a fair and solution-oriented approach.
- Manage relationships with Government Authorities, Labour Department, local administration and other statutory authorities wherever required.
- Ensure adherence to applicable labour laws, statutory compliances, HR policies and company guidelines across all locations.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, employee communication, retention and organisational culture across the region.
- Manage performance management systems, annual appraisal processes, incentives and career development initiatives.
- Identify critical talent and develop succession planning and leadership development programs.
- Work closely with business heads on organisational restructuring, manpower productivity and cost optimisation.
- Monitor HR metrics such as attrition, hiring TAT, manpower cost, productivity, employee engagement and retention.
- Establish strong HR governance and standardised processes across all area offices.
- Lead HR teams across the region and build a high-performance HR culture.
- Support business expansion, new office/branch launches and workforce ramp-up requirements.
- Handle sensitive employee matters and escalations involving senior management, employees and external stakeholders.
- Drive HR digitisation, automation and data-driven decision making to improve HR efficiency.
Ideal Candidate
- 15–20+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in Consumer Durables, FMCG, Telecom, Retail, Manufacturing or other large distributed organisations.
- Experience of managing HR operations across a large geographical region with multiple locations.
- Proven experience managing 3,000+ employees through a regional HR structure.
- Strong exposure to talent acquisition, employee relations, grievance handling, labour compliance and government authority management.
- Strong stakeholder-management and people-leadership skills.
- Ability to work closely with senior business leaders and translate business requirements into effective HR solutions.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, labour laws, statutory compliance and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification preferred.
